Ed Dumas

Ed Dumas now serves as our Music Coordinator. He is the co-founder of the Golden Ears Jazz Band, formed in September 2004, where he served as conductor and educator when Golden Ears Jazz Band was an adult learning jazz band. Ed stepped aside in June 2007 and now acts as Music Consultant for the band. Originally a trumpet player, Ed had also filled in with trumpet or flugel horn with the jazz band.

Ed is a very respected and well established music teacher and band conductor for over 20 years within the community of Maple Ridge. As well as his interests in Golden Ears Jazz Band, Ed also conducts the Maple Ridge Concert Band as well several bands at Thomas Haney Secondary School and a variety of elementary schools. He is also past conductor of the Abbotsford Concert Band and the Whalley Legion Band. He has been a guest conductor and trumpet coach at music camps, retreats and concerts around the province.

Ed is joined by his wife Laurie and two children Jenna and Drew as members of the Maple Ridge Concert Band.
